Background
Anup Dhungana is a licensed civil engineer and the CEO of Ajira Builders Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu, with over a decade of experience in construction. His focus is on quality builds, and he believes a quality build comes from quality design. He looks at each home as a whole — combining how the family living in it will feel, how the ground under it behaves and how the structure responds during an earthquake — and weighs these together from the first sketch, so that a well-thought-out design is carried through into carefully built work on site.
His technical focus is Nepal's seismic design requirements — NBC 105:2020 compliance and structural detailing under IS 456 and IS 13920 — applied across every Ajira Builders project.
He believes Nepal's construction industry is overdue for greater transparency and engineering discipline, and works to bring a more systematic, technology-minded approach to how homes are designed and delivered.
